Yagiyama Zoological park station

Yagiyama Park Station recently started running subways underground as one of the station in Tozail-ine on 6th December 2015. on 6th December 2015.
Get off at this station and you can visit two places which are one of the Sendai’s famous tourist destinations; “Yagiyama Zoo  park” and “Yagiyama Bennyland (amusement park)”

Also, despite the fact that it’s a “subway” station, the altitude was 136.4 m, which became a hot topic because I was certified by the Japan Metro Association as the subway station with the highest altitude in Japan. On this highest subway station in Japan, there is this observation deck which we will be taking you today.

The basement 2 floor is a subway station, and when you rise to the 5th floor (rooftop) by elevator from there, you can get out to the top square.

The area of the rooftop square is as wide as 1,700 square meters, and it is maintained with a wood deck and lawn. Since the observation deck part is surrounded by a glass fence, not a fence, you can fully enjoy the view.
It is a recommended date spot that you can overlook the Pacific Ocean if it’s a fine weather and enjoy the sky full of stars at night. What is more, you can also find this best place to see the first sunrise, and after that you can visit Miyagi Musashi Kokuni Shine where Date Masamune, feudal lord who founded this city 400 years ago, is worshipped. Every year Japanese visit shrine to pray for their safety, health and luck in the beginning of the year, so, this place where you can see the beautiful sunrise and also visit shrine become famous through internet. This place is also connected to the entrance of Yagiyama Zoo, so if you want to visit lots of places in one day, this is the place for you!

Currently, the square is only functioning as a passage to Yagiyama Zoological Park, but Sendai City is attempting to hold more and more events at this place.
