The American steak. Something that’s probably native to North American BBQ’s is something that almost all expats from the grill loving corner of the globe long for. Though Japan has always been interested in American culture, finding good steak is something that always seems to be elusive. However, one Japanese steak house chain is trying to change that.
Originally started in Tokyo and Osaka, Grottie’s Beef is one of the few places where people can experience steak the way it was meant to be experienced. (At least for the average budget.)
We decided to head out to their only Tohoku area branch in Sendai, to see what all the fuss was about.
What is mature meat?
All of the steak served at this restaurant chain, is aged for 40 days with a variety of spices, cheese and breading. This gives it a succulent yet rich flavour when grilled.
Where is the Sendai store?
Gottie’s Beef Sendai is located only a 3 minute walk away from JR East Sendai Station. If you’re in the mood for some meat, go ahead and check it out, and make sure to let us know how you liked it!
- Just look at that lovely coloration in the steak. While our reporter worked their hardest to write down their thoughts (a bit difficult when enjoying something like this) we took some pictures for you guys!【Gotchies Beef Sendai】
